One of the UK’s most established and recognisable service providers is seeking two Lead Electrical Design Engineers to join its engineering team. With a long-standing heritage and a vital role in supporting the country’s infrastructure, the organisation operates an extensive network of distribution centres, delivery hubs and highly automated processing facilities across the UK. As a key member of a highly skilled technical engineering team, you will play a central role in the ongoing development and modernisation of critical operational sites. Designing and implementing innovative electrical systems, you will help enhance automation, improve energy efficiency and drive long-term reliability. Working within the Design Engineering team, you will champion continuous improvement, modernise existing processes and introduce forward-thinking solutions that strengthen performance and shape the future of the organisation’s operations.

The Role:
Lead the electrical design of in-house technical engineering solutions
Manage testing and implementation plans for electrical-biased projects
Drive innovation and engineering solutions at both central and local levels
Identify and develop in-house manufacturing capabilities for engineering projects
Champion new engineering processes, tools, and people development initiatives
Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to improve automation system reliability
Inspire and lead a team of technical experts to achieve high performance
Act as a positive leader within and central engineering teams
Promote a culture of professionalism, innovation, and engagement throughout engineering
The Person:
Degree - Electrical Engineering or similar
Proven experience in detailed product design and development in an automated environment
Strong knowledge and experience of SISTEMA, IEC 60204 and IEC 13849
Strong engineering background with demonstrated problem-solving ability
Proficient in CAD/CAM software and design packages such as: Autodesk Electrical / EPLAN / EPLAN Pro Panel
Able to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
