Our client, a forward-thinking and innovative company, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in designing and developing cutting-edge NDP automation machines.\n\nKey Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer are:\n\nLead the design and development of electrical systems for NDP automation machines, creating solutions from the ground up.\nDesign and implement safety systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.\nDevelop and assemble electrical cabinets for new machinery with a focus on efficiency and reliability.\nCreate, modify, and ensure the accuracy of electrical drawings and pneumatic diagrams.\nSupport production teams by diagnosing and resolving electrical faults.\nCollaborate with the controls engineer during commissioning to ensure smooth operations.\nChampion continuous improvement initiatives for existing machinery.\nTake ownership of electrical safety, risk assessments, and compliance with relevant standards.\nOccasionally participate in international machine commissioning.\nMentor and manage junior engineers and technicians.\nMaintain and manage electrical Bill of Materials (BOMs).Required Skills & Experience required for this Electrical Design Engineer position:\n\nA qualification in electrical or mechatronic engineering (e.g., HNC, HND, foundation degree, or bachelor's degree).\nExperience in reading and creating electrical schematics/circuit diagrams.\nA minimum of 2 years designing complete electrical systems, including safety systems.\nStrong understanding of UKCA/CE marking, PUWER, and machine certification standards.\nFamiliarity with motor drive technologies (servo, DC, stepper, AC motors).\nKnowledge of PLCs, with experience in coding (Ladder logic and structured text) considered an advantage.\nExperience with SolidWorks Electrical is desirable.\nIOSH or equivalent health and safety certification is advantageous.\nStrong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Working Hours:\n\nStandard hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.\n\nWhat's On Offer:\n\nCompetitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £60,000, based on experience.\nPension contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.\n25 days of annual leave plus public holidays.\nA bonus scheme offering up to 20% of your annual salary.\nDeath in service insurance (4x base salary)
