Job Title: Lead Commercial HVAC Technician
Location: On-site in Skokie, IL
Compensation: $45–$55 per hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with extensive hands-on experience in commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The Lead Technician will take ownership of installation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment, while also mentoring junior team members and ensuring high-quality work on every job.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, RTUs, split systems, and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair complex system issues with accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee and mentor junior technicians, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure timely and effective project completion.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time on job.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and safety regulations.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and technical expertise.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of commercial HVAC experience, including extensive work with chillers, boilers, RTUs, and related systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and diagnostic tools.
- Proven leadership experience or the ability to lead a team in the field.
- EPA Universal Certification required; additional state licenses a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
