We are recruiting a LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) Process Development Engineer for KI (Knauf Insulation). This position reports hierarchically to the Knauf Group LCA&EPD Project Manager, based in the Visé offices in Belgium. Can you say ‘yes’?... Do you have experience in using LCA tools and models such as GaBi? Are you familiar with EPD (Environmental Product Declarations) creation? Can you manage a project from A to Z? Are you organized, structured and deliverable? Knauf Insulation is looking for a LCA Process Development Engineer . The location is quite flexible but preferably linked to Belgian HQ. Knauf Insulation is a large international family. One of the objectives of this position is also to ensure your presence in the different markets. You will therefore travel , 20-30% of the time, to meet the expectations of the company and the teams based worldwide. What you’ll be doing: Manage LCA development models and EPD expectations with the relevant markets Be responsible for the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) program : Data collection support in manufacturing plants Modelling in LCA software Verification process Publication – with marketing teams, communication and training Market support (competition analysis …) Adapt LCA modelling based on manufacturing process evolution and/or methodological changes. Looks for optimizing the models in order to get relevant results. Based on results, gives feedback to all involved teams as a suggestion for improvements Keep himself / herself on top of LCA software revision Contribute to: creating the next generation EPD - LCA as a service to the customer the digitalization of the EPDs i.e. inclusion into BIM keeping LCA program in line with the developments in the construction sector: regulations and green buildings rating schemes supporting the Management in the development of LCA methods, standards & applications (CPR, TC 350, ECO Platform, new indicators, circular Economy …) Support marketing communication , advocacy work and training of internal teams and external stakeholders / customers He / she establishes contacts with the scientific community such universities, consultancy, research institutes; To be the driving force behind the continuous improvement of processes and tools What we’d love for you to have: We are interested in you as a person; your attitude, behaviors and values. If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage: Qualifications and experience required: Degree in chemistry, environmental engineering or comparable natural science or engineering studies 5+ years of professional experience in modeling/creating life cycle assessments with product’s LCA tools (i.e: GaBi) or publishing EPDs, advanced knowledge of handling LCA parameters Experience with various EPD programs (e.g. IBU, Environdec, INIES, NMD) Knowledge of the relevant life cycle assessment methods/standards EN 15804+A2 Addditional expertise in construction System’s EPDs or Building’s level LCA tools is a plus. Program and project’s portfolio management expertise Use with transformation processus and management of change Very good knowledge of written and spoken English . French and German are a plus. Confident handling of MS Office applications and collaboration software Required skills: International mind, openness Organizational skill s: Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously Team player with capacity to create transversal collaboration with other teams Ability to deal with large amounts of information Good communication , presentation and interpersonal skills High energy , self-motivated, versatile and multi-task oriented, and close attention to detail We will provide: As this is a central, international position, the package and associated benefits will be those of the contract's host country.
