Position Overview
KPM Franklin is seeking a full-time Survey Project Manager / Field Crew Coordinator for our Kissimmee office. This individual will lead teams of field survey crews and CAD technicians responsible for collecting, processing, and finalizing survey and mapping deliverables. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects from start to finish including proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, field work, data review, and QA/QC ensuring all deliverables meet Florida Administrative Code Chapter 5J-17 Standards of Practice. This position will play a critical role in field coordination, staff training, and client communication to ensure every project is delivered efficiently, accurately, and professionally.
Project Management Responsibilities
- Manage survey projects from initiation through completion.
- Lead field crews collecting data and CAD technicians drafting, reviewing, and finalizing survey and mapping documents.
- Write proposals, prepare and submit contracts, track labor, and generate invoices.
- Perform research and prepare sketches and legal descriptions.
- Review survey calculations, field notes, and data for completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate daily crew assignments through Bluefolder and manage production schedules.
- Understand and oversee a variety of survey types including:

- Boundary, topographic, and wetland surveys
- ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
- Construction layout and staking
- Route and utility surveys
- Plats, right-of-way mapping, and control surveys
- Subdivision and condominium plats, as-builts, and aerial control surveys
- Perform QA/QC reviews of all deliverables to ensure compliance with FAC 5J-17 Standards of Practice.
- Train and mentor CAD technicians and field crews.
- Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to maintain schedule and budget integrity.
Education, Experience, and Software Requirements
- High school diploma or GED minimum.
- Minimum 5 years of survey project management experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Desired but Not Required:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Land Surveying or related field.
- Florida PSM license or CST certification.
- Experience with Geopak, MicroStation SS4, OpenRoads, and FDOT Work Group 8 standards.
- Familiarity with aerial, mobile, and terrestrial LiDAR workflows and extraction software.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 (commensurate with experience).
