The primary role of this position is to work under minimal supervision, supporting a project team by drafting detailed drawings, conducting research, and preparing final documents for various projects. In this role, employees will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in the essential job functions outlined below.

• Serve as a resource to the survey staff on matters concerning drafting practices and procedures.

• Enter, access, retrieve, analyze, and revise data as directed based on CPC standard procedures. Manage the responsibilities associated with preliminary and final drawings, Excel spreadsheets, and research documents.

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related surveying software packages to complete assignments such as preparing boundary surveys, topographic surveys, plot plans, foundation surveys, as-built surveys, and record drawings on time and within prescribed standards.

• Organize base drawing files utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software packages.

• Produce complete and detailed drawings by making revisions based on the comments and plans of senior project team members.

• Produce various drawings specific to the project. Examples include specific purpose exhibits, site layout, grading, storm sewer, water, sanitary sewer plans, construction layout, and construction staking.

• Communicate with team members, the Project Manager, and the Project Coordinator regarding workload status to ensure meeting designated chargeability goals.

• Intermediate understanding and application of the following technical skills:

· AutoCAD Civil 3D

Traverse reduction and adjustment

· Level Loop reduction and adjustment

· Reading and understanding field notes

· Reading and understanding Construction Plans

· MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

· Topcon Tools

· Topcon Magnet Field

· Least Squares Adjustment

· Leica Cyclone 3DR

· Autodesk Recap Pro

· Pix4D (Photogrammetry and Drone Mapping)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying (or related field)
  • Threes (3) plus years’ experience demonstrating proficiency with the latest AutoCAD Civil 3D software and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of land survey and civil engineering terms and practices
  • Ability to communicate positively with Survey Project Managers and Staff
  • A positive attitude, work ethic, and desire to work through any challenges
