Immuno Labs is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technologist to support laboratory operations. This role is in-person, based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

 

YOUR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Perform the following tests: IgG, IgE, Candida, Gliadin/tTG (Celiac), and ELISA as required
  • Ability to accurately pipette specimens/reagents using a micro-pipettor
  • Preparation of Reagents
  • Prepare specimens for testing
  • Perform QC split samples
  • Participate in QA monitoring
  • Handling of phone calls/emails from Physicians regarding test results or test methodology
  • Successfully participate in CAP or internal proficiency testing
  • Maintain inventory
  • Learn safety procedures
  • Safely handling of hazardous materials
  • Maintain lab equipment
  • Disinfection of work area
  • Discard old specimens safely as needed
  • Daily review of log for missing tests
  • Assist in the Accessions department when needed
  • Perform Phlebotomy if necessary
  • Maintain CEU’s up to date
  • Assist the Lab Director and Lab Supervisor in technical problem-solving

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • B.A./B.S. in Medical Technology or appropriate major
  • One (1) to two (2) years in specialty (e.g. allergy/immunology)
  • Experience in clinical laboratory is a plus

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Basic computer knowledge that would allow one to be able to do data entry

 

SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, physicians, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.

 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have Medical Technologist Licensure in an appropriate specialty
  • Must have Valid Driver's License
  • Must have Valid Florida Medical Technologist Licensure
