Duration: 4 Months
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | 4 Nights On / 4 Nights Off | Continuous Rotating Schedule
Description:
Job Summary
Perform routine laboratory and analytical testing to support food safety, quality, and operations. The technician will test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products, monitor laboratory equipment, document results, and communicate findings to internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine quantitative and qualitative laboratory testing.
- Test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Monitor laboratory instruments and verify proper performance.
- Perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic instrument repairs.
- Document, interpret, and maintain laboratory test results in databases.
- Communicate test results to internal customers.
- Maintain and update customer specification books.
- Support food/feed safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Support more complex laboratory trials and experiments under supervision.
- Prepare routine reports and correspondence.
- Follow laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and operating instructions.
- Identify and escalate complex technical or operational issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain food safety and quality standards.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Laboratory environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- May work in dusty environments.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders up to approximately 20 feet for inspections.
- Ability to crouch and crawl when required.
- Must be comfortable working 12-hour overnight shifts on a continuous rotating schedule.
Ideal Candidate
Someone with laboratory testing experience who is comfortable working independently on routine analytical testing, operating laboratory instruments, documenting results, and working in a food safety/quality-focused manufacturing environment.
