Job DescriptionJob Title: Laboratory Supervisor, Core Lab and Blood Bank

• Day Shift

General Summary:

• Provides laboratory services to meet the needs of patients performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices.
• Supervises personnel and coordinates functions and activities in assigned division.
• Functions at least 50% of the time as a technical staff member.

Essential Functions:

• Directs, supervises, and coordinates technical functions and activities in assigned area(s).
• Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
• Trains other employees in day-to-day procedures.
• Assists in developing budgets and department goals and objectives.
• Participates in Quality Assessment Program and research activities.
• Consults with medical staff and other healthcare providers on laboratory services.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree; copy of college diploma and transcript required.
• Required Work Experience: 5 years in Medical technology or related science; demonstrated leadership potential.
• Licenses: Certified in various specialties such as Blood Banking, Chemistry, Cytogenetics, etc.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough understanding of test theory, instrumentation, and sources of test error.
