Job DescriptionJob Title: Laboratory Supervisor, Core Lab and Blood Bank
- Day Shift
General Summary:
- Provides laboratory services to meet the needs of patients performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices.
- Supervises personnel and coordinates functions and activities in assigned division.
- Functions at least 50% of the time as a technical staff member.
Essential Functions:
- Directs, supervises, and coordinates technical functions and activities in assigned area(s).
- Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Trains other employees in day-to-day procedures.
- Assists in developing budgets and department goals and objectives.
- Participates in Quality Assessment Program and research activities.
- Consults with medical staff and other healthcare providers on laboratory services.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree; copy of college diploma and transcript required.
- Required Work Experience: 5 years in Medical technology or related science; demonstrated leadership potential.
- Licenses: Certified in various specialties such as Blood Banking, Chemistry, Cytogenetics, etc.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough understanding of test theory, instrumentation, and sources of test error.
