Job Summary: The Lab Aide I is responsible for receiving samples, distributing work, and preparing work environment for the accurate and timely processing of patient specimens, including sending specimens to for testing. Responsible for providing excellent customer service and teamwork, troubleshooting issues, and supporting Pre-Analytical and Analytical Operations team with daily tasks.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assists in general laboratory maintenance tasks.
- Prepares samples for send out locations for processing.
- Scans requisitions and other documents into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Ensures all areas are stocked with required materials and PPE. Prepares workstations for sample receipt.
- Complies with lab safety protocols and guidelines.
- Manages the storage of supplies in the lab to meet minimum daily requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and work area.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education
- High School diploma or GED required
- Competencies/Skills
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentially of all medical, financial, and legal information.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience
- 0-6 months experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Experience working with MS Office Suite, required.
