We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-focused individual to join our Environmental Monitoring Team as a Lab Support Technician. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining product safety and facility control by performing environmental monitoring and sampling in GMP-regulated cleanrooms and classified process areas.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine environmental monitoring in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and process areas.

Collect samples from high-purity water, clean steam, and compressed gas systems.

Handle, document, and manage samples in accordance with established procedures and cGMP requirements.

Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, media, and reagents.

Support lab operations by cleaning controlled temperature units, operating autoclaves, and performing general lab upkeep.

Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration coordination.

Use the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track samples and test results.

Participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations as required.

Support the training of new team members.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences Basic understanding of microbiology and contamination control principles. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in computer systems and organizational tools. Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Qualifications

Experience in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Prior environmental monitoring or cGMP experience. Familiarity with LIMS or similar data management systems.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is an indoor lab-based position working in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and lab spaces. Position requires significant time spent in ISO 8 cleanrooms with the following restrictions: No cosmetic products or applications (such as makeup, false lashes, spray tans etc) are permitted and must be removed before entry. Nails must be kept short, trimmed, and unadorned (no nail polish, rhinestones, etc). No jewelry may be worn (exceptions are medical alert-related and one smooth ring band that can be easily covered by a glove). Hair must be able to be neatly tied back and contained in a hairnet, and all facial hair must be neatly trimmed and able to be secured in a beard cover. Ability to meet physical demands, including, but not limited to, routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs or more, walking and standing for extended periods, pushing or pulling carts and equipment, and bending down or reaching for supplies.

Additional Details

The position is full-time, first shift, Wednesday-Saturday 7am-5:30pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
