Lab Manager- Bio-Pharm Research

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our growing biopharmaceutical research team. The Lab Manager will be responsible for the overall maintenance and efficient operation of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations. The successful candidate will oversee laboratory instrumentation, consumables, vendor relations, and day-to-day workflow, supporting both research and operational leadership in advancing therapeutic development programs. Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and familiarity with laboratory management software are essential for this position. 
Key Responsibilities
•    Maintain, troubleshoot, and coordinate repair of all laboratory instrumentation.
•    Serve as primary point of contact for vendors and organize on-site service visits.
•    Generate, track, and manage equipment service contracts and warranties.
•    Oversee receipt, documentation, storage, and distribution of cell and tissue samples from arrival through final use.
•    Implement and maintain systems for sample traceability and chain-of-custody compliance.
•    Identify and resolve workflow inefficiencies across research operations.
•    Manage laboratory consumables and supply inventory, including procurement and vendor communications.
•    Monitor stock levels and anticipate ordering needs to minimize downtime.
•    Oversee safe removal and disposal of biological and chemical waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
•    Ensure compliance with institutional safety protocols, including recordkeeping and SOP adherence.
•    Maintain clean, organized laboratory spaces and common areas.
•    Support onboarding and training of laboratory staff on proper use of equipment and operational procedures.
Qualifications
•    BS/BA degree in a life science, biomedical engineering, or related field.
•    Minimum of 2.5 years in a laboratory management role within an industry or academic research setting.
•    Demonstrated experience in equipment maintenance and vendor management.
•    Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and inventory tracking.
•    Knowledge of biosafety practices and regulatory compliance (BSL-2 ).
•    Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot workflow bottlenecks.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
Reporting
The successful candidate will report jointly to the Director of Research and the Director of Operations.
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
