Junior Specialist in Climate Change and Sustainable Development

We help strategic corporate clients and financial institutions assess risks and opportunities related to climate change and sustainability. Our department collaborates with leading Ukrainian and international companies across various sectors. Our mission is to assist businesses and government institutions in solving complex economic, environmental, and social issues, ensuring their activities are transparent, responsible, profitable, and efficient. As a Junior Specialist, you will participate in projects such as:- Supporting sustainable development policies, including implementing the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative- Managing sustainable development and climate risks by identifying, describing, and financially assessing risks and opportunities- Reporting and auditing sustainability data, developing sustainability reports, and verifying financial reporting information- Conducting analytical research in climate change, energy, environment, health, and safety- Advising clients on Environmental Social Governance (ESG) issues and helping them develop relevant corporate processes Responsibilities:- Implement sustainable development policies by: - Analyzing data, conducting research, and preparing informational materials on sector transparency in Ukraine - Reviewing international experiences in sustainable development policy implementation - Developing recommendations to improve sustainable development policies and standards at the state and corporate levels - Communicating with experts and public organizations regarding sustainable development policies in Ukraine - Advising companies on preparing and submitting reports on state benefits- Work on greenhouse gas emissions accounting and regulation, and develop recommendations for an emissions trading system in Ukraine- Conduct sustainable development research for clients- Support businesses in implementing international standards (GRI, TCFD, IFRS S1/2, CSRD, GHG Protocol, etc.)- Prepare presentations, brochures, reports, and other analytical materials- Draft public corporate reports for clients- Analyze clients' key policies and procedural documents related to corporate governance, personnel management, environmental protection, occupational safety, and non-financial reporting Requirements:- Higher education in economics, accounting, taxation, systems analysis, or a related field- English language proficiency at B2 level- Proficiency in office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint- Experience in public administration, energy, environment, or subsoil use (preferred) -1+ years of professional experience in economics, accounting, and taxation (preferred)- Experience in preparing public company reports (annual, non-financial, environmental, PR products, reviews, and research) (preferred)- Personal qualities: attention to detail, communication skills, presentation skills, initiative, organization, flexibility, ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask, team collaboration, and quick learning What We Offer:- Official employment from the first day- 35 calendar days of annual leave- Option to work remotely or in a comfortable office equipped for working during blackouts- Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses- Transparent career growth from intern to partner- Mentor support throughout your career- Medical, travel, and life insurance- Numerous internal and external training sessions, including access to Udemy courses and the EY Badges educational system- Coverage of professional training costs
