Junior Project Manager

Custom Software Systems Inc. is seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our clients and work alongside a team that is designing and developing information management, collaboration, and intranet tools in SharePoint Online for clients located in Washington, DC.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow IT standards or industry best practices, as directed.
  • Managing project timelines, resources, and scope.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizenship or Green Card is required
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a project manager or project consultant.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience leading cross-functional Agile project teams and ensuring that Agile processes and methodologies are followed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate at various levels within IT project teams, stakeholders, technical teams, and clients.
  • Must be able to multitask assignments and projects, work with a team, and work well independently.
  • Experience with planning and communicating the launch of new products and features to an organization or division, including the development of communications plans, delivering user demos, coordinating support, and executing end-user training programs.
  • Problem Solving ability
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Experience leveraging Agile Project Management best practices and ceremonies (e.g., sprints, stands, retros, estimating, etc.), to implement new software and digital products in an organization.
  • Able to execute business process/task analysis and translate into user stories.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Gitlab, Jira, Planner, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to coordinate resources across program teams.
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting principles and financial applications.
  • Experience in the full cycle of software development, using both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical security information clearly and concisely both verbally and orally.
  • Knowledge and experience of human resources, benefits, recruiting, payroll practices and principles.
  • Knowledge and experience of task order applications and technologies.
  • Articulates the program’s strategy and objectives and assesses how it will impact an organization.
  • Defines and oversees a list of dependent projects needed to reach the program’s overall goals.
  • Delivers successful program outcomes.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience conducting user research (user interviews, card sorting, contextual inquiries, personas, etc.)
  • Experience leading Usability Testing with end users
  • Experience as an Agile Coach either in a technology or non-technology role in an organization that diligently applied agile principles, practices, and theory.
  • Ability to turn user needs in key performance indicators (KPIs) and/or objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Familiar with ServiceNow PPM (SPM) system
  • PMI Certification
  • Agile program management certification

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent
