Job Description

Job Title - Junior Project Engineer\nDuration - 6 Months (potential to extend to 12 months)\nWorking Model - Hybrid (2 days per week in Central London)\nHourly Rate - £25p/hour - £35p/hour (dependant on experience)\n\nProject Engineer Overview\nWe are looking for a Junior Project / Package Engineer to support the delivery of equipment packages for offshore oil & gas projects, including FPSO turret mooring systems.\n\nThis is a hands-on role in a small company, where you will take ownership of tasks and work independently without a large support team. You will be responsible for reviewing engineering documents, liaising with vendors, tracking progress, and supporting project delivery.\n\nThe role suits someone with 2–5 years’ engineering experience who is proactive, organised, and comfortable managing multiple tasks across both technical and project activities.\n\nThe Project Engineer role will involve:\n\nReviewing engineering documents, providing comments, and returning to vendors\nCoordinating and collating multidisciplinary comments for vendor submissions\nLiaising with vendors on technical queries and clarifications\nMonitoring vendor progress and supporting expediting activities\nReviewing quality documentation, including ITPs and inspection records\nSupporting interface coordination across multiple equipment packages\nLiaising with classification bodies where required\nPreparing and maintaining progress reports and tracking deliverables\nSupporting logistics and delivery coordination of equipment packages\nWitnessing or attending Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)\nThe Project Engineer will need to have the following attributes:\n\n2–5 years’ experience in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, structural or similar)\nExperience reviewing and marking up engineering documents and drawings\nExperience liaising with vendors and handling technical queries\nUnderstanding of project expediting and progress tracking\nFamiliarity with quality documentation (ITPs, inspection records)\nExposure to oil & gas, offshore, or petrochemical projects (FPSO experience beneficial)\nProactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small team environment\nAbility to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks\nHappy to consider an experienced candidate if it meets rate expectations.\n\nIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up-to-date CV, along with your availability and hourly rate expectations
