UK Field-Based – Head Office located in Rushden | £28,000 + Company Vehicle | Permanent

Are you looking for a hands-on Engineer who enjoys getting out on the road, solving problems and working directly with customers?

\n

Our client is looking for a Junior Field Service Engineer to join their growing UK service team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to get into mechanical/electrical engineering who wants to build their career in a varied, customer-facing field service role.

\n

You’ll be visiting customer sites across the UK and Ireland, working on specialist equipment used. No two days will necessarily be the same, with a mixture of preventative maintenance, fault finding, installations, repairs and customer training.

\n

What will you be doing?

\n

As a Junior Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

\n

\n
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.

\n

• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.

\n

• Installing, commissioning and setting up new equipment at customer sites.

\n

• Providing customers with demonstrations and end-user training.

\n

• Completing accurate service reports and documentation using an electronic job management system.

\n

• Working closely with the internal Helpdesk and Customer Service teams to ensure customers receive excellent support.

\n

• Building strong customer relationships and representing the business professionally on-site.

\n

• Maintaining your company vehicle, tools, equipment and van stock.

\n

• Taking part in ongoing technical training to continually develop your skills.

\n

• Supporting team meetings, improvement projects and wider service initiatives.

\n

• Identifying potential opportunities to support the wider commercial team where appropriate.

\n

• Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

\n

• A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.

\n

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

\n

• Good IT skills and confidence using electronic systems.

\n

• A full UK driving licence.

\n

• Flexibility to travel extensively throughout the UK including occasional overnight stays.

\n

\n

Desirable experience

\n

It would be great if you also have:

\n

\n
• Previous experience within field service, maintenance, engineering or technical support.

\n

\n

\n
• An engineering qualification such as HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

\n

• Experience working to ISO standards or within an accredited service environment.

\n

• Experience working with laboratory, scientific, medical or specialist technical equipment.

\n
