Job Description:

Position Overview: The Commercial Construction Estimator plays a critical role in our organization, responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with commercial construction projects. The Estimator will work closely with the project management and business development teams to provide comprehensive estimates, ensuring that our clients receive accurate and competitive pricing for their projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and study project plans, requirements, documentation, drawings, and specifications
• Have demonstrated leadership abilities to work with the business development team to develop a large multidisciplinary estimate
• Assess risk levels and problematic issues associated with project(s)
• Review accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
• Understand project logistics and project schedule
• Prepare bid packages. Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids
• Review quotes and estimates with the Project Management Team
• Prepare estimates at different levels of completion (conceptual, Schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
• Be able to assist in responses to RFP’s
• Prepare proposals with current software in accordance with company standards
• Understand the difference between estimated cost and actual cost
• Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure completion of all duties
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field highly desired.
  • 2+ years experience in the commercial construction estimation desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Estimating and/or Construction Project Management experience.

• Knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles
• Must be confident working with estimating teams of varying sizes, and be capable of estimating hard bid, negotiated and conceptual projects

• Individual must be self-motivated, possess strong communication/interpersonal skills and be confident in his/her ability to develop and manage their assigned portion of the estimate
• Advanced computers skills with MS Office and Procore (preferred)
• Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
• Prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands
• Effective presentation skills
• Excellent written and oral communication
