Qualifications for a Commercial Window Film Project Takeoff and Estimating Manager:

Tasks:

1. **Bid Invitation Management:**

• Receive and track incoming bid invitations from general contractors.
• Evaluate project specifications and requirements.

2. **Project Takeoff:**

• Conduct detailed analysis of team takeoffs for window film installations from PDF documents.
• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine accurate material needs.

3. **Estimating:**

• Prepare and review comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, and overhead.
• Collaborate with suppliers to obtain pricing for window film and related materials when required.

4. **Proposal Preparation:**

• Develop and present competitive proposals to general contractors.
• Ensure all bids are compliant with project requirements and deadlines.

5. **Collaboration:**

• Work closely with project managers, sales teams, and installation crews.
• Communicate effectively with general contractors to clarify project details and identify items that need clarification. Submit RFI’s

6. **Market Research:**

• Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and pricing strategies.
• Analyze previous project data to refine estimating processes.

7. **Documentation:**

• Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and project correspondence.
• Update project databases with current bidding information.

8. **Risk Assessment:**

• Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each bid.
• Develop strategies to mitigate risks in project execution.

9. **Client Interaction:**

• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors and clients.
• Address any questions or concerns regarding estimates or proposals.

Qualifications:

1. **Education:**

• Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.

2. **Experience:**

• Proven experience in estimating and project management within the construction or window film industry.
• Familiarity with commercial window film products and installation techniques is not required but is helpful.

3. **Technical Skills:**

• Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., PDF, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
• Strong understanding of construction blueprints and technical specifications.

4. **Analytical Skills:**

• Excellent math skills and attention to detail for accurate takeoffs and estimates.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

5. **Communication Skills:**

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Ability to present information clearly and persuasively.

6. **Organizational Skills:**

• Highly organized, disciplined , and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong time management skills.

7. **Problem-Solving Skills:**

• Demonstrated ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.

8. **Certifications (optional but beneficial):**

• Relevant certifications in project management.
