Position: Junior Estimator
Location: Aylesbury / Buckinghamshire (Office Based)
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE)
A growing construction and maintenance contractor is seeking a Junior Estimator to join their commercial team.
This role is ideal for an ambitious individual with a genuine interest in construction pricing, measurement, and tendering. You will be trained and mentored by experienced estimators, with clear progression opportunities as the department continues to expand.
Junior Estimator - Job Overview
Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Carry out material take-offs and produce accurate quantities for pricing
Support in preparing estimates, cost schedules, and tender submissions
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
Develop understanding of rates, pricing structures, and commercial risk
Maintain tender documentation and support the commercial team as required
Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes
Receive ongoing training to progress into a more senior estimating role
Junior Estimator - Job Requirements
Some experience or exposure to construction estimating, procurement, or commercial roles ( but not essential)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (training provided where needed)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good attention to detail and accuracy in measurement
Confident communication skills when liaising with suppliers and internal teams
Competent in Microsoft Excel and general IT software
Positive attitude, willing to learn, and keen to develop professionally
Based within commutable distance and available for a full-time office-based role
