Job Summary
As a Junior Estimator, you will assist with takeoffs, bid preparation, subcontractor/vendor solicitation, and project cost analysis. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic construction knowledge who is eager to learn the art of estimating in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, millwork shop drawings, and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for carpentry, casework, countertops, and general scopes.
- Assist in preparing and organizing bid packages and proposals.
- Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors; maintain quote logs.
- Use estimating software and spreadsheets to compile bid details.
- Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings as needed.
- Maintain organized project folders and bid documentation.
- Support senior estimators in budgeting and value engineering efforts.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, estimating, or related field ( OK).
- Strong understanding of basic construction and millwork terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and basic PDF markup tools.
- Familiarity with estimating (Software Procore, Bluebeam)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
