Junior Electrical Assembler\n\nLocation: Crawley (on-site)\nSalary: £24,000–£27,000 (depending on experience)\nType: Permanent, full-time\n\nOur client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Crawley, supplying high-quality electrical and control solutions to customers across multiple industries. They’re now looking to bring in a Junior Electrical Assembler to support the build and wiring of electrical panels and cable assemblies, with clear long-term progression routes for someone keen to develop.\n\nThis is an ideal opportunity for someone with hands-on wiring experience (or a college/apprenticeship background) who enjoys practical work, can follow drawings accurately, and wants to grow into areas such as PLC control systems or electrical design.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Junior Electrical Assembler, you’ll be involved in the assembly and wiring of electrical control equipment in a structured workshop environment.\n\nKey responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Wiring electrical panels and control cabinets to specification\n\n * \n\n Building and terminating cable looms and harnesses\n\n * \n\n Reading and working from electrical drawings, wiring schematics and layout diagrams\n\n * \n\n Crimping, stripping, terminating and labelling cables to a high standard\n\n * \n\n Supporting with basic electrical/mechanical assembly where needed\n\n * \n\n Completing quality checks and ensuring builds meet internal standards\n\n * \n\n Keeping a tidy, safe workspace and following workshop procedures\n\nWhat our client is looking for\n\nEssential\n\n * \n\n Some practical experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or loom building (industry, college, or apprenticeship)\n\n * \n\n Ability to follow wiring drawings/schematics with good attention to detail\n\n * \n\n Confident using hand tools and basic electrical assembly equipment\n\n * \n\n A positive attitude and willingness to learn\n\nDesirable (nice to have)\n\n * \n\n Experience with crimping standards, ferrules, and cable management\n\n * \n\n Familiarity with control panels, DIN rail components, relays, terminal blocks, etc.\n\n * \n\n Electrical qualification or training (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, apprenticeship, BTEC)\n\nProgression & Development\n\nOur client takes development seriously, and this role offers genuine progression for the right person, with opportunities to move into:\n\n * \n\n PLC and controls (build/test/support)\n\n * \n\n Commissioning or workshop test\n\n * \n\n Electrical design office support (drawings, documentation, control system layouts)\n\nWhat’s in it for you?\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary of £24k–£27,500 p.a\n\n * \n\n Structured training and development path\n\n * \n\n Stable, workshop-based role with varied builds\n\n * \n\n Clear progression into higher-skilled electrical/controls positions
