Jr. Software Project Manager
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAMS Workplace Technology is seeking a junior level software project coordinator to help manage software implementation projects for customers. This Project Coordinator role will work together with a Project Lead on the design side to help manage typical project management tasks.
Note: Please consider before applying if you are overqualified for this junior level position. We are also looking for a candidate who can reasonably commute to the office in Fairfield, NJ at least twice per week.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage project schedules and budgets from initiation phase to closeout phase
- Identify and track action items, deliverables, and key milestones for client and internal projects
- Collaborate with Project Leads to ensure project scope is clearly defined and documented in a project proposal
- Document and implement AMS standard project management processes for other employees
- Procure purchase orders from clients and track the status of client invoices and payments
- Communicate project status, budget, issues and risks to client decision makers/stakeholders and AMS leadership
- Develop and analyze course of action (COA) plans with AMS consultants and present solutions to client stakeholders
- Track project burn rates and identify potential budget risks
- Document meeting agendas and notes for client and internal status meetings
Skills
- Project Management software, such as MS Project or something similar
- Understanding of SDLC and software development methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
- MS Office Suite (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word)
- Effective and proactive communicative skills
- Task and goal-oriented individual with great attention to detail and ability to multitask
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
- 1+ years Project Management Experience
- Familiarity with software development projects
