The Junior Desktop Service Technician supports IT operations by installing and configuring software and hardware, managing systems and network tools, and resolving technical issues. This role ensures a reliable and secure computing environment for users across the organization and works closely with internal teams to deliver seamless support and system functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure Microsoft Windows operating systems, desktop environments, and network tools
- Set up and maintain user accounts, workstations, and device access through Active Directory
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain stability
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity problems across PC and Mac environments
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and other IT staff to assess system needs and implement improvements
- Support local technical teams and end users with system usage and technical training
- Respond to service requests and escalate complex issues as needed to ensure timely resolution
- Assist in managing cloud-based tools and applications including Office 365 and Adobe products
Qualifications:
- Experience in a Help Desk, IT support, or desktop services role
- Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, and Exchange Server
- Familiarity with PC hardware, cloud-based tools, and Mac workstation integration
- Associate degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on user satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
