Journeyman Electrician

Role Summary

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing and industrial environments.

This role requires expertise in industrial controls, low-to-medium voltage systems, and the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes. Collaboration with engineers and other trades is key to ensuring safe and efficient operations.

This position is based in the Raleigh, NC area, with potential to travel to surrounding project sites.
Travel teams receive per diem.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install wiring, conduit, and control panels per blueprints and supervisor direction
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and repair motor controls, transformers, and switchgear
  • Install and integrate PLCs, VFDs, sensors, relays, and actuators into automated systems
  • Ensure compliance with Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance
  • Inspect electrical installations for quality and code compliance
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate service and maintenance records
  • Collaborate with other trades and engineering teams on site


Qualifications

3+ years of industrial electrical experience (construction or project-based)
NC Apprentice Electrician certification required (NCCER)
NC Electrician License
PLC/automation experience is a plus
✅ Valid driver’s license required
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
✅ Familiarity with OSHA 1910.147, NEC 2023, and safety best practices
✅ Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
✅ Experience with Procore a plus
