Commercial / Residential Journeyman Electrician (Licensed / Non-Licensed)
Location
Broward & Dade County, FL and surrounding counties (including West Palm Beach, Martin, Port St. Lucie, Okeechobee, etc.)
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician: $30.00 to $40.00+ per hour (depending on experience, complexity, certifications, overtime)
- Non-Licensed / Journeyman-Level (no license): $24.00 to $32.00 per hour
Overview
We are seeking experienced and well-rounded Commercial / Residential Journeyman Electricians, both licensed and non-licensed, who can perform a broad range of commercial electrical tasks. The ideal candidate is comfortable bending conduit, pulling wire, reading blueprints, installing panels, troubleshooting systems, and coordinating with other trades. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates is a plus.
These electricians will support commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects across the region, often working in multi-trade environments, new builds, tenant improvements, renovations, and service/maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical plans to determine conduit runs, wire size, panel locations, and system layouts
- Lay out, bend, and install conduit (EMT, Rigid, PVC, etc.)
- Pull and terminate wire, cables, MC, tray, or other conductors
- Install and wire electrical panels, disconnects, breakers, feeders, devices, motors, lighting, controls, and specialty systems
- Assist in installation of control wiring, motor starters, VFDs, PLC interfaces, and low-voltage control circuits
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems (voltage drops, faults, improper connections, grounding, load balancing, etc.)
- Work with other trades (mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) to coordinate conduit penetrations, raceways, and system routing
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, safety standards, and lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Inspect completed work for conformance to standards and quality
- Maintain neat, safe, and organized work areas
- Occasionally perform supervisory or lead duties (mentoring junior electricians or helpers)
- Document job progress, material usage, change orders, or issues as required
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial or Residential electrical experience
- Experience in bending conduit, pulling wire, and commercial installations
- Ability to use conduit benders, fish tapes, pull tools, voltage and continuity testing equipment
- Good understanding of electrical code (NEC) and local amendments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Capable of working independently and in teams
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Good physical stamina (ability to climb, bend, carry tools, stand for long periods)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- For licensed positions: must hold a valid electrical license or certification recognized in Florida (or in process)
