Duties/Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installations: Installing wiring systems, electrical panels, lighting, and specialized equipment.
- Maintenance and Repair: Diagnosing and fixing electrical failures, replacing components, maintaining backup systems, and troubleshooting.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensuring installations meet codes and regulations, performing safety inspections, and adhering to guidelines like OSHA.
- System Upgrades and Energy Efficiency: Upgrading systems for efficiency, installing energy-efficient solutions, and conducting energy audits.
- Collaboration and Project Management: Interpreting blueprints, collaborating with other contractors, planning layouts, and training apprentices.
- Preforms other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license required.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with the Electrical Code and local codes
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see to discern -coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in constricted areas.
