Position Summary
The Journeyman Electrician should possess electrical knowledge/experience 7 to 10 years.
Essential Functions
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Adept with both high and low voltage systems.
- Fabricate and install wire-way hangers, Install conduit below and above ground. install assorted sizes and types of cables (thru and local) for lighting, communications, control, power, electronics,
- Installation of components (terminal boxes, switches, controllers, wiring harnesses, cabinets etc.) for the various electrical systems.
- Install main power switchboards and electrical equipment, cut in and hookup cables for installed components.
- Thorough understanding of the Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.

Position Qualifications
Required:
- Previous electrical/electronic trade experience or training
- Blueprint/electrical schematic reading and interpretation skilled.
- Familiar with a wide range of hand and power tools, testing equipment, and may use software for planning and documentation.
- May oversee job sites, coordinate with other trades, and provide guidance to apprentices and junior electricians.
- Skilled in diagnosing complex electrical issues and implementing efficient, code-compliant solutions.
- This position is physically demanding and requires the individual to be able to frequently carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull more than 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work all shifts.
- Must be available to work at heights, confined spaces, and extreme temperature conditions as required
- High school diploma/GED; additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs.
- Must be at least 18 years of , except where a higher is required by law, and must be employed to learn an apprenticeable occupation.
- May be eligible for an apprenticeship program in one of the five different programs available:
- Construction Laborer
- Combination Welder
- Electrician
- Heavy Equipment Operator
- Substation Lineman
Education & Experience
Education: Applicable journeyman licensure requirements
Experience: 10 years
Computer Skills: Word, Excel, and Adobe
Certificates & Licenses: Journey or Master electrician
