As a Maintenance Electrician, you will utilize your expertise to perform journey-level work involving the design, installation, construction, modification, repair, and maintenance of various electrical apparatuses, equipment, and systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems, including electric motors and controls, while also providing necessary maintenance and repairs on equipment as required.What’s in it for you?

What you’ll be doing:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems, electric motors, and controls.
  • Write specifications for repairs and new construction projects.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Respond to routine and emergency repair calls promptly.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other maintenance staff when necessary.
  • Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical malfunctions using various test instruments.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components to identify and correct issues.
  • Install electrical hardware such as circuit breakers and connect wiring.
  • Advise management on potential hazards related to equipment operation.
  • Test electrical systems and circuits to ensure compatibility and safety.
  • Support 5S housekeeping standards throughout the plant and maintenance areas.

What we are looking for:

  • Must have a journeyman card or state license to qualify to apply for local UAW journeyman card within six (6) months of employment.
  • Ability to use instruction books that detail the assembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and torque wrenches.
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of on-the-job safety requirements for Electrical Safety, Lock Out Tag Out, Back and Ergonomics Safety, Fall Protection in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Forklift, Skid Steer, Aerial Work Platform, Overhead and Mobile Crane experience is a plus.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
