Our team is committed to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. We are currently seeking a licensed and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our Maintenance Department.
Position Overview
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the facility. This role also supports general maintenance duties, assisting the Maintenance team in mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and overall equipment reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a deep understanding of electrical systems in a manufacturing environment, and a proactive approach to facility upkeep. Must hold a valid journeyman electrician license.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, controls, wiring, and equipment in accordance with local, state, and codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical panels, lighting systems, motors, and PLC systems.
- Identify electrical hazards or defective equipment and ensure timely repair or replacement.
- Test electrical systems using tools such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to diagnose issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and inventory of parts and tools.
- Assist with the installation and servicing of motors, transformers, generators, circuit breakers, and other equipment.
- Support HVAC and mechanical system troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
- Assist the Maintenance Department with mechanical repairs, welding, fabrication, and general facility upkeep.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and all site-specific safety policies and procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and support 24/7 production needs.
- Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and other maintenance staff to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license required.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or apprenticeship completion strongly .
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Thorough understanding of electrical systems, codes, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems independently.
- Experience with motor control systems, PLCs, and automated machinery.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, and plumbing is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is .
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and email communication tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Qualifications
- Experience in metal fabrication, machining, or sheet metal inspection.
- Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation is a strong plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly .
- Experience working with ERP or QMS systems.
- Knowledge of packaging methods and warehouse data systems.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, dusty, or noisy environments typical of manufacturing settings.
- Ability to use ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
