Joinery Estimator

Job Description

My client are recruiting for a specialist Joinery Estimator who will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of projects by providing accurate cost estimates and budget proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating within the joinery industry, excellent analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.\nMain Duties:\n * Estimating projects from either initial design or for re-installation\n * Liaising with the Sales Team on costing handover, ensuring all relevant information has been provided, and there is a clear understanding of any intricacies\n * Using internal software to produce internal costing sheets, which will be used by Project Management and Accounts to monitor and manage project spend\n * Managing workload on a daily basis to ensure the Clients deadline and the complexity of the design are considered and expectations are realistic\n * Develop an understanding, through regular and consistent meetings & communication, of upcoming costings due to be required and ensure workload / deadlines are considered\n * Support and advise on designs; analysing for, amongst other things, cost effectiveness against budget and practicability of manufacture and installation\n * Supporting the Creative Director as necessary and assisting with his workload when absent\nSkills and Experience\n * Experience of the joinery industry.\n * Experience of estimating, ideally bespoke projects, using estimating software. I.e Smartsheet’s.\n * Team player with good communication skills\n * Personable: ability to work with a small team and inter-department\n * Able to format and report information clearly and constructively\n * Multitask: coordinate multiple projects and prioritise time accordingly\n * Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel\n * Experience of working within a small business so understands dynamics\nKey Skills & Attributes:\n * Displays honesty & integrity\n * Reliable, with good timekeeping\n * Ability to multi-task\n * Solid written and verbal communication skills\n * High attention to detail\n * Organisational skills\n * Critical thinking and problem-solving skills\n * Research skills\n * Analytical skills
