Oaks Jewelers is a well-established, third-, family-owned jewelry store that has proudly served the vibrant Berkeley community on Solano Avenue since 1948. We’re known for our quality craftsmanship, exceptional service, and welcoming atmosphere.
We are seeking a dynamic, industry-experienced professional who thrives in both the technical and customer-facing sides of the jewelry business. This unique “hybrid” role combines project management for jewelry repairs with high-level sales and client service. The ideal candidate will have a strong jewelry sales background, hands-on repair knowledge, and the ability to seamlessly transition between our manufacturing and sales floors.
Key Responsibilities

Repair Project Management – Oversee and coordinate the jewelry repair process from intake to delivery.

Client Consultations – Meet with customers to evaluate repair needs, provide estimates, and ensure exceptional service throughout the process.

Team Collaboration – Work directly with our lead goldsmith and sales team to ensure accurate execution of repairs and clear communication between departments.

Inventory & Materials Management – Order and track materials, and manage outsourced projects via online platforms.

Sales & Customer Service – Assist customers with purchases, qualify clients for orders, and facilitate custom design projects.

Merchandising – Support store setup, display, and visual merchandising to maintain an inviting showroom.

Custom Jewelry Coordination – Collaborate with clients to design, source, and produce unique pieces.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven jewelry sales / repair experience (3 years minimum)

Basic to intermediate jewelry repair knowledge and hands-on skills

Strong customer service skills with a professional, friendly demeanor

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Proficiency in computer systems and online platforms

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Clear and effective communication skills

GIA Certification or other jewelry industry credentials

Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Compensation
- $30 – $40 per hour, based on experience
