  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

  • Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days from home, 3 days from the Sheffield office

  • Hours: 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday

  • Reporting to: Group Information Systems Manager

  • Occasional travel to other UK sites required

\nAbout the Role:\n

As the IT Support Engineer, you will provide 3rd Line Technical Support and contribute to the design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of a secure, scalable IT infrastructure. Working across multiple business units, you will support a "Cloud-First" strategy while maintaining on-premise and hybrid systems. This role offers significant exposure to infrastructure projects, cyber security initiatives, and modern workplace technologies.

\nKey Responsibilities:\n

    \n
  • Provide 3rd line technical support, acting as an escalation point for complex incidents and problems.
  • \n

  • Maintain and support Microsoft 365, Azure / Entra ID, Intune, and Windows Server environments.
  • \n

  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects including cloud migrations, upgrades, and system integrations.
  • \n

  • Configure and support network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, and Wi-Fi.
  • \n

  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, management, and access controls.
  • \n

  • Manage endpoint provisioning, compliance, and security using Intune and Endpoint Manager.
  • \n

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • \n

  • Maintain and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • \n

  • Support Cyber Essentials compliance, patching, MFA, conditional access, and security tooling.
  • \n

  • Work closely with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable IT services.
  • \n

  • Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • \n

\nSkills and Experience:\n

Essential:

\n

    \n
  • At least 5 years' experience in IT support, including substantial 3rd line and project-based work.
  • \n

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform).
  • \n

  • Proven experience with Azure AD / Entra ID, Intune MDM, and Windows Server (2016/2019).
  • \n

  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-entity environments.
  • \n

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • \n

  • Experience implementing or maintaining Cyber Essentials compliance.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n

  • Highly organised, proactive, and customer-focused mindset.
  • \n

\n

Desirable:

  • Microsoft certifications (Azure, Microsoft 365, Security).
  • \n

  • CCNA, VCP, or equivalent technical certifications.
  • \n

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of ITIL or structured service management frameworks.
  • \n

  • Experience with Veeam or similar backup and DR platforms.
  • \n
