IT Project Manager in Boston

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are hiring an IT Project Manager/Lead Business Analyst (IT PM/BA) with experience leading large projects from inception to completion related to Case Management and/or Healthcare applications.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The person hired for this role will be responsible for leading large projects for our client’s applications that support investigations, quality management, operations, and legal business units as well as business processes related to these core functions including integrated systems.  In this role, the IT PM/BA will work with stakeholders to initiate, plan and manage large projects to implement new or enhanced applications. This role will be responsible for creating/maintaining project plans, monitoring progress, coordinating resources, documenting requirements and facilitating communication.

The primary work location for this role will be Boston, Massachusetts. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM. The individual is expected to occasionally travel to the local area and regional Massachusetts offices. This position is expected to follow a hybrid model of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, document and manage the project plan throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project management activities including assessing issues and risks to prevent potential barriers to project and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Lead reviews with stakeholders of project plans/schedules and milestone dates
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document the project scope and objectives.
  • Develop and document business requirements
  • Prepare design proposals and systems specifications for complex systems or major systems modifications
  • Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems or major enhancements for the purpose of improving business processes, operations, and information process flow
  • Help create and maintain relevant project artifacts such as project charter/scope, project plans, back log list, stories, status reports and operational checklists.
  • Assist in business process redesign efforts to support, document and inform leadership of improvements, including technical changes.
  • Help lead the vendor selection process, preparing documentation required for this process, organizing and leading meetings for this purpose, and facilitating decision making for vendor selection.
  • Vendor management duties, coordinating requests, meetings, etc., tracking ongoing support and enhancement requests, working with vendors to ensure LOEs are reflective of needs and effort is consistent with the requested work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Practical experience creating and implementing project plans and schedules according to project goals and objectives.
  • Practical experience conducting requirements gathering with business teams
  • Working knowledge of project management concepts as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Ability to self-motivate and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adjust to changing situations to meet emergencies or changing program or production requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with varying levels, team members, peers, management, business stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize, execute and manage work in a matrixed, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate with diverse user groups and provide support to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience effectively using MS Office tools
  • Hands-on experience in managing escalated issues and dispute resolution of any components of a project with the ability to understand when to escalate issues to senior management.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Understanding and knowledge of Agile methodology and the software development life cycle (SDLC).

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in IT environments
  • Prior Government or Healthcare experience is , but not required

Pay $68 - $71.45 / hour W2 depending on experience.
