Position Summary: The IT Infrastructure
Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and managing "as-a-Service" (aaS) platforms in support of the organization's goals. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of all cloud, in-house, and containerized infrastructure resources. This role involves working with internal and external partners and participating in strategic initiatives, projects, expansions, and new implementations to ensure the proper solutions are put into place.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports infrastructure components that may be subject to one or more regulatory audit and compliance requirements including HIPPA, FDA, PCI, etc.
  • Creates quarterly reporting on cloud resource, availability, capacities, utilization, and performance
  • Designs, develops, and supports many of the companys web services and website platforms.
  • Designs and develops cloud solutions using Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or other cloud platforms, with a focus on provisioning Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) resources.
  • Develops and deploys containerized applications and solutions using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, while overseeing the orchestration of containers to ensure efficient resource utilization and scalability.
  • Collaborates with clients and the development teams to understand their requirements, integrates containerization into the development lifecycle, and provides tailored aaS infrastructure solutions.
  • Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of containerized and cloud-based applications.
  • Implements and manages cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, serverless solutions, and aaS resources.
  • Monitors and optimizes cloud and container performance, ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and efficient provisioning of aaS resources to industry standards.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to cloud and in-house infrastructure, containerized applications, and aaS services.
  • Stays up to date with the latest cloud technologies, containerization techniques, aaS offerings, and best practices.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams, particularly around aaS provisioning.
  • Provides after-hours on-call support for critical incidents as well as after-hours and weekend change implementation execution.
  • Documents cloud architectures, containerization practices, aaS provisioning processes, CI/CD processes, and best practices for future reference.
  • Creates, reviews, and maintains documentation of deployments, systems, and procedures relating to job/team responsibilities.
  • Serves as primary backup to the Senior Systems Administrator.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret business needs and requirements to implement
  • Ability to lead projects, organize team members to accomplish tasks, manage deadlines.
  • Ability to create and lead communications with business partners, and vendors to ensure collaboration, efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Understanding of ITSM concepts and processes including but not limited to: Demand Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Service Continuity Management, Service Level Management, and Architecture Management. ITIL certification a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Tanzu, and other containerization tools.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft IIS and Apache web server platforms.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, and an ability to design and manage microservices within a containerized environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and processes.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma with 5-7 years of prior experience as an Infrastructure Platform Engineer or a similar role, with a focus on provisioning aaS resources is required. Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field .
  • 5-7 years of knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, and their aaS offerings is required.
  • 5-7 years of knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and networking topologies is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), particularly for aaS provisioning is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Tanzu) is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience and proficiency with programming such as Python, Java, or JavaScript is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience and proficiency with scripting like Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience supporting Linux and Windows Servers in an enterprise environment is required.
  • Understanding of security best practice measures specific to containerized and cloud based environments is required.
  • OneDrive for Business synchronization and profile management is required.
  • Understanding Microsoft 365 apps, plans, service descriptions, and features is required.
