Role: IT Field Engineer\n\nLocation: Cheltenham \n\nSalary: Up to £40,000 + Car Allowance & Expenses\n\nAre you a confident IT Support Engineer with experience across 1st to 3rd Line? Love getting out from behind the desk, meeting clients, and solving problems on-site as well as remotely? If you're looking for variety, autonomy, and exposure to a wide range of tech, this one’s for you.\n\nWe're working with a well-established MSP based in Cheltenham who are growing their team with a Field Engineer to deliver hands-on technical support to their diverse client base across the local area.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nProviding on-site support at client locations around Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, tackling networking, infrastructure and user support issues.\n\nDelivering remote helpdesk support (1st to 3rd Line) from the office, troubleshooting everything from Office 365 and Windows Server to networking and backups.\n\nActing as a trusted technical partner to clients, building relationships, spotting opportunities for improvement, and representing the business in a positive light.\n\nWorking on a wide variety of environments, every day is different, and you'll be exposed to multiple industries and setups.\n\nTech you’ll work with:\n\nWindows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy\n\nOffice 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams\n\nAzure (IaaS, AAD), basic AWS exposure a bonus\n\nNetworking: switches, firewalls, routers (Cisco, Ubiquiti, DrayTek etc.)\n\nBackup solutions: Datto, Veeam, Acronis\n\nRMM tools: ConnectWise, Autotask, or similar\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\nSolid background in IT Support, ideally from an MSP or similar fast-paced environment\n\nConfident across 1st to 3rd Line, with good all-round knowledge of infrastructure\n\nComfortable working independently on-site, solving problems and liaising with non-technical users\n\nA clean driving licence, you’ll be travelling to client sites regularly\n\nStrong communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset\n\nSalary & Benefits:\n\nSalary up to £40,000 depending on experience\n\nCar Allowance + Expenses\n\nHybrid setup, split between field visits, helpdesk support, and occasional WFH\n\nCerts and training support (Microsoft, Azure, networking etc.)\n\nFriendly, down-to-earth team with a strong reputation in the local market\n\nIf you’re someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working closely with clients across a range of technologies, this role offers the perfect blend of hands-on support and field engineering work.\n\nRecruiter: Callum Thompson
