IT Architect – Hybrid Cloud & Automation (m/f/d)
Salary: +€100k depending on qualifications
Location: High flexibility for remote work with occasional on-site presence in Hamburg
Your Tasks
- Design, implement, and optimize modern, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure architectures—primarily in OpenStack and hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop automation strategies for infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code principles and scripting such as Python and Bash.
- Design CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications, leveraging tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Argo CD.
- Create and evolve architecture models based on strategic goals, technical requirements, and compliance standards of public sector and financial clients.
- Support long-term transformation projects by developing migration strategies for legacy IT landscapes.
- Conduct monitoring, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of cloud platforms and IT operations.
- Translate customer requirements into detailed service and architecture documentation, and support the development of reusable architecture building blocks.
- Prepare bid-relevant documents and conduct profitability and cost analyses for complex cloud projects.
- Provide expert consulting to clients on architecture implementation, cloud security, governance, and long-term operating models.
- Ensure architectural compliance with security regulations (e.g., BSI IT baseline protection) and support emergency management processes.
What You Bring to the Table
- 5+ years of experience designing and managing complex IT and cloud architectures (hybrid/public/private).
- Deep knowledge of cloud- technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Helm) and hybrid infrastructure domains (networks, servers, storage, management, security, etc.).
- Practical experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN), middleware, IT operations, and data backup strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash) and CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD).
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale infrastructures (e.g., ≥ 5,000 servers or ≥ 20,000 clients).
- Strong analytical skills to structure technical requirements and translate them into strategic, scalable architecture solutions.
- Experience working with public sector or financial institutions, with an understanding of compliance and governance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical topics clearly to diverse stakeholders.
