Corporate Inventory Specialist
Department: Administrative
Reports To: CFO
Location: Anchorage
Summary
The Corporate Inventory Specialist oversees all aspects of parts inventory control across the dealership. This role ensures optimal stocking levels, accurate reporting, and consistent supplier performance. Responsibilities include approving stock orders, managing supplier relationships, maintaining OEM price files, and driving profitability through strategic inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Reporting
- Oversee inventory accuracy across all branches; monitor and reconcile discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain reporting for inventory performance, turns, fill rates, and obsolescence.
- Review branch inventory levels against demand forecasts, adjusting stocking strategies as needed.
- Develop recommended stocking lists for current and inbound equipment.
- Review and maintain vendor managed inventory
Stock Order Management
- Approve and release all branch stock orders based on sales history, seasonal demand, and corporate guidelines.
- Coordinate weekly and monthly replenishment schedules with branch parts managers.
- Optimize stock rotation and inter-branch transfers to reduce surplus and prevent stock-outs.
Supplier Management
- Serve as a point of contact for OEMs and major suppliers (Hitachi, Volvo, Epiroc) for parts management.
- Monitor and reconcile aging receivables for parts returns.
Price File Maintenance
- Maintain and update OEM and vendor price files in the dealership management system.
- Coordinate with accounting and sales teams to ensure accurate pricing and margin control.
- Implement annual price adjustments and communicate changes to branches.
Process & Policy Compliance
- Develop and maintain parts department policies and procedures.
- Support and enforce dealership policies for warranty returns, cores, and obsolete inventory management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field ; equivalent dealership experience considered.
- 5+ years in inventory management, preferably in a heavy equipment or dealership environment.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency; experience with dealership management systems (Flyntlok or similar).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday, Saturdays as needed
