The employee oversees the organisation's inventory control and purchasing functions. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient procurement, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and driving cost savings to meet business needs.
Requirements of the role:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field, or related experience .
- Proven experience in inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
- Strong proficiency with inventory management and ERP software, specifically SAP and QuickBooks.
- Advanced computer skills, including advanced Excel/Smartsheet.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
- Has experience with global sourcing, logistics, and supply chain best practices.
- Possesses a strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities to interact with teams and suppliers.
Requirements:
Inventory Management:
· Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to minimise loss and optimise levels.
· Monitor and track inventory movement and conduct physical inventory counts and regular audits.
· Maintain accurate records of all physical and written inventory systems.
· Analyse inventory data to identify trends and generate reports for leadership.
· Ensure proper storage and organisation of inventory and supplies.
Purchasing & Procurement:
· Evaluate purchasing needs, identify reliable suppliers, and negotiate favourable supplier contracts.
· Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
· Assess the effectiveness of suppliers and new product developments to ensure quality and value.
· Oversee the entire procurement process to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing and inventory strategies with business objectives.
· Mentor and train those involved in the purchasing and inventory process.
· Provide input and recommendations to leadership regarding inventory and purchasing improvements.
