Inventory Operation Specialist - Food Facility

Location: Vernon Hills, IL Schedule: Full-time (8-hour shifts with two paid 15-minute breaks) Environment: Cold storage, multi-building facility

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inventory Operations Specialist to manage inventory across our manufacturing operation. This role is essential to maintaining accurate stock records, supporting production planning, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You’ll work closely with the Office Manager and General Manager, and occasionally assist production and packaging teams.

✅ Must-Have Qualifications

• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus

• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs (e.g., boxes of spices and meat)

• Comfortable being on your feet for up to 7.5 hours/day

• Willing to work between two adjacent buildings, regardless of weather

• Able to work in cold environments

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily deliveries of products, packaging, raw meat, ingredients, and consumables

• Input inventory data into system, including lot numbers for traceability

• Create batch records to remove used inventory from the database

• Notify purchasing team when stock levels are low

• Generate monthly reports:

  • Complete inventory

  • Raw ingredients

  • Product sold

• Assist with quarterly physical inventories (minimum of 4 per year)

• Support production and packaging teams when inventory tasks are complete

Technical Skills Required

• Basic proficiency in computers and typing

• Experience with inventory systems, including:

  • Scan guns

  • Labeling tools

  • Inventory management software

• Familiarity with Google Sheets and data entry
