Inventory and Production Planner (Temp-to-perm)

Job Summary:
The Inventory and Production Planner reporting to the SVP – Sourcing & Production, will be responsible for managing the inventory levels and overseeing the production process to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products. The role will involve validating demand forecasts, coordinating with suppliers, and collaborating with various teams to optimize inventory levels and production schedules. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain inventory control policies and procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify potential stockouts or overstocks, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with production team to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the retail analytics teams to understand promotional activities, seasonal changes and ensure they are incorporated into demand forecasts.
- Validate the forecasts received from analytics team to finalize production plan with factories.
- Collaborate with the production team to create feasible production schedules based on demand forecasts and available resources.
- Support production team in managing time and action calendar with suppliers to ensure there are no delays.
- Monitor production progress with production team and identify any bottlenecks or issues that may affect delivery timelines.
- Adjust production schedules in partnership with production team as needed to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen circumstances.
- Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and production efficiency.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding inventory optimization and production planning strategies.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate the movement of goods and optimize storage space.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in inventory and production planning preferably in the textile industry
- Experience with handling planning for Walmart replenishment a must.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory management and production planning, preferably in the apparel or fashion industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and advanced spreadsheet applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
