Role Summary:

The International Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods across international borders. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, optimizing logistics processes, and maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.

They are responsible for managing the logistics of international trade (Inbound of Ocean and air freight), including arranging transportation, tracking shipments, and coordinating necessary documentation such as customs declarations, bills of lading, HTS codes ,etc.

International Trade and Logistics Coordinators work closely with various stakeholders such as shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs officers, and clients to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of goods.

Reports To: Logistics Manager


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and planning export operations, manage international shipments from to destination, US and Canada.
  • Understanding of international trade laws and regulations to ensure all operations comply with domestic and foreign policies. (HTS codes, Exemptions, etc)
  • Communicate with our office overseas (Asia team office), freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Tracking shipments and providing updates on the status of shipments. Coordinate delivery of containers to our two warehouse facilities in Florida, 3PL in the west coast and Canada 3PL warehouse.
  • Manage the flow of inbound containers coordinating with operations according to warehouse capacity. The timing and flow of containers is extremely important, focusing on the time the products are needed but at the same time coordinating warehouse capacity to unload containers.
  • Managing documentation related to shipping and customs clearance.
  • Approve and confirm that invoices match our previously approved rates with our freight forwarder, and coordinate payment with our accounting department.
  • File claims to the insurance if there are any problems with the products during transit. (Damage control and QC)
  • Coordinate directly with our office overseas to match requested release dates of containers from factories.
  • Route and book POE shipments to the west coast for required customers. Coordinate with the freight company assigned by customers for container pickup.
  • Coordinate direct import shipments.
  • Update and maintain shipping schedule in Acucontainer, use other tools to report shipments and timing, from ETD to the delivery dates at warehouse.
  • Forecasting and evaluating logistics costs and the impact of operational changes. Try to avoid pre-pulling container or paying for extra free days.
  • Resolving issues related to shipment and delivery of goods.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with freight and shipping companies
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements in logistics operations
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and related technologies for tracking and reporting. Acumatica, Magaya and Acucontainer experience are a plus.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics activities to our different locations in the US and Canada.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in international logistics.

 

 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in international logistics or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Data analysis, knowledge of Power Bi  and Excel (pivot tables,v-lookups, etc) is a plus
