Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services



Location: Kent 



Salary: £35,000 - £45,000



An established building services consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career within a collaborative team delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across a range of commercial, residential, and public sector projects.



Key Responsibilities:



Develop mechanical building services designs for HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems.

Produce design calculations, specifications, and technical drawings to support project delivery.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, and sustainability consultants.

Contribute to project proposals, reports, and client presentations.

Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and best practices.

Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and handover phases.What we’re looking for:



Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

3–5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design, preferably within consultancy.

Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, or equivalent design software.

Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient building systems.

Knowledge of UK building regulations and sustainability standards.

Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
