Job Description
Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
Stanmore
I'm currently supporting a well-established building services consultancy that is looking to strengthen its design team with the appointment of an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer.
My client is seeking an engineer who can take an active role in developing electrical designs and coordinating engineering services across a range of projects. The successful individual will have exposure to a variety of sectors and systems and will be confident working in line with current industry standards.
This opportunity would suit someone with a solid technical grounding in building services design, who is capable of integrating modern technologies into projects and contributing to high-quality engineering solutions. Key responsibilities will include:

- Surveying, testing, and reporting on existing electrical installations
- Attending and contributing to technical meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Undertaking engineering calculations using Amtech, Pro-Design, or similar software
- Preparing tender specifications and design drawings
- Supporting and overseeing the technical work of trainees, graduates, and junior engineers

Skills and experience required:

- Competence in producing specifications and drawings for a range of building types
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Understanding of relevant British Standards
- Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
- Comfortable working to deadlines and within project programmes

Qualifications

- Degree in Electrical or Environmental Engineering ()
- HNC/ONC/BTEC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- Ideally a minimum of three years' experience within a UK consultancy, although strong candidates with slightly less experience will also be considered
