Job Description
Carson Design Associates is seeking an Intermediate Architect to join our Indianapolis, Indiana team. This position will support our firm portfolio across various project types, including corporate/office, healthcare, hospitality, veterinary, and multifamily. The ideal candidate will be a positive, dynamic, and proactive individual who possesses strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills, is highly creative, values a team environment, and is capable of managing multiple priorities.
The Job Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Code review and interpretation, including practical project application to support other staff members
- Participating in the creation and planning of the conceptual design of a project
- Assisting with client presentations
- Architectural detailing
- Production of construction documents
- Permit documentation and submission
- Coordinating with consultants and teammates throughout a project
- Adhering to project budgets and schedules
- Working with a team of designers in developing technical solutions to design ideas
- Quality control
To be successful in this role at Carson Design Associates, we expect you to have:
- A collaborative and professional work ethic
- Knowledge of interior architecture, design, and concepts, along with the ability to support the firm’s new construction and exterior work
- Knowledge of architectural design documentation, detailing, building materials and systems, and construction techniques
- Knowledge of general architecture practice including programming, site planning, structural concepts, building codes, and accessibility requirements
- An understanding of document deliverables in all phases of design
- Proficiency with relevant software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Creative problem-solving abilities
- Some experience with contract and liability
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong design skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Presentation and graphic communication skills
- Experience in performing duties in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines
- The ability to take initiative within your work
- Experience with specification writing or editing
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
- 5+ years experience in field delivering design projects
- Registration or path to registration
