Overview
Energy Jobline is supporting the delivery of a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced Interface Engineer to support the coordination of technical interfaces across multiple project packages and stakeholders.
The role will help ensure engineering deliverables, construction activities, and operational requirements are aligned across offshore and onshore project elements, enabling smooth project execution across multidisciplinary teams.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the Interface Engineer will manage and coordinate interfaces between engineering disciplines, contractors, and project stakeholders.
The role focuses on ensuring design data, technical documentation, and execution plans remain consistent across all interfacing scopes, including offshore facilities, subsea systems, pipelines, and onshore infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and manage technical interfaces between project packages, contractors, and third-party stakeholders
- Maintain and update the project Interface Register and support implementation of the Interface Management Plan
- Facilitate coordination meetings between engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to resolve interface issues
- Ensure engineering deliverables, specifications, and design data remain consistent across interfacing packages
- Review engineering documentation to confirm alignment of design boundaries and tie-in points
- Track interface actions, clarifications, and agreements between project stakeholders
- Maintain interface documentation, agreements, and change records throughout the project lifecycle
- Support integration of interface reporting into project progress and planning activities
- Identify potential interface risks and coordinate resolution of technical or scheduling conflicts
- Verify closure of interface agreements prior to mechanical completion and project handover
Skills & Experience
- Experience coordinating interfaces within large-scale oil & gas or energy infrastructure projects
- Understanding of engineering design processes, construction, commissioning, and project delivery phases
- Experience working within multi-package EPC or PMC project environments
- Knowledge of offshore developments including platforms, subsea systems, pipelines, or onshore facilities
- Familiarity with interface management tools or project collaboration systems such as ICMS, SharePoint, or Prodom
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process, or related discipline)
- Minimum 8 years’ experience within oil & gas or major infrastructure projects
- At least 3 years’ experience in interface management or project coordination roles
- Experience supporting offshore or integrated energy infrastructure developments
- Offshore certification such as BOSIET is advantageous

The advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
