Position Description
The Insurance Compliance & Loss Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organizations insurance compliance programs and loss control strategies. This position ensures that the company meets regulatory and policyholder requirements, mitigates risks, and proactively reduces exposure to liability and financial loss.
This dual-role function combines technical knowledge of insurance and regulatory frameworks with hands-on loss control and safety program development. The role partners with internal stakeholders, insurers, brokers, and regulatory agencies to foster a culture of compliance, safety, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities would include; conduct internal audits and risk assessments related to insurance practices. Liaise with insurers, brokers, and regulatory bodies to address inquiries, audits, or compliance issues. Develop and manage loss prevention programs, safety policies, and incident response procedures. Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with operational teams to implement risk mitigation and response strategies. Analyze incident trends and loss data to drive prevention initiatives. Assess current high-risk insurance programs to develop strategies that reposition locations into more favorable risk categories.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop, implement, and oversee insurance compliance programs and loss control strategies.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments related to insurance practices.
- Liaise with insurers, brokers, and regulatory agencies to address audits, inquiries, and compliance issues.
- Work with IRGRAs external insurance team, including brokers and insurance consultants, on risk and insurance matters.
- Work directly with the Property Management team on all insurance-related matters.
- Design, implement, and manage loss prevention programs, safety policies, and incident response procedures.
- Perform site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operational teams to implement risk mitigation and response strategies.
- Analyze incident trends and loss data to drive proactive prevention initiatives.
- Evaluate high-risk insurance programs and develop strategies to reposition operations into more favorable risk categories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. RMI or Engineering Degree strongly .
- At least two to three years plus of experience working within a corporate risk management or insurance company loss control department, or agency/broker environment.
- Critical Thinker - ability to analyze available information to form a sound judgement.

- Works independently and is a self-starter - seeks out additional responsibilities.

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

- Associate in Risk Management (ARM); Associate Safety Professional (ASP); Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or other nationally recognized safety certification
- Experience in multi-line coverage
- Experience using RMIS systems and databases
