Job Description ~ Commercial Lines Account Manager – Independent Insurance Agency
Agency Description:
Reputable independent insurance agency representing a wide variety of companies. Servicing the personal and commercial insurance needs of a large customer base.
Job Summary:
This is a customer service and sales position. The primary function of this position is to provide excellent customer service to existing clients and assist the agents in meeting the needs of the customer. The challenge is to give the most timely, accurate and noteworthy service customers have ever received, anywhere.
Teamwork with agents within our office to provide excellent customer service is a requirement to continue the good reputation of our agency. Understanding that the Agent/CSR team is the backbone of our agency.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Complete the process of entering information into the agency system for writing new or renewal business, assisting with applications and company websites as necessary
· Review policies for accuracy, matching coverage to applications, invoicing renewals and endorsements and updating agency system
· Work closely with agents in providing customer service by taking phone calls, answering emails and faxes.
· Proficient use of Epic, the agency management system
· Gathering information from customers via phone, email or fax for changes to policies, submitting any changes to companies and invoicing endorsements
· Keep customer accounts up to date. Including but not limited to equipment lists and vehicle schedules
· Performs all service requests for customer policies, provides correspondence and documents to customers as necessary. Certificates of insurance, evidence of coverage or information to banks. Assist insureds in making payments.
· Leave good activity trail of all processes
· Communicate with insured or agent regarding underwriting questions and concerns from companies
· Able to discuss and answer questions regarding coverages with customers in a professional manner
· Perform tasks necessary to transfer information between agency and companies. By way of download, attaching policies, online websites
· Assist agent with preparing proposals or policy presentation for renewals.
· Assists or completes other tasks as directed by agency management
Job Requirements:
· Applicant requires active P&C license with State of Michigan
· Knowledge of insurance coverage and policy forms
· Experience with Applied Epic system or similar agency management system
· Excellent communication skills through written and oral communication
· Able to work well with others in office as a team and meet expectations of agents
· Normal office duties including computer entry work, phone, communication skills
