Position Summary
The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technician supports the manufacturing facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation and control systems critical to production operations. This position ensures reliable performance of instrumentation, control devices, and electrical systems used in process monitoring, equipment automation, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and maintain sensors, transmitters, flow meters, temperature probes, pressure instruments, and control valves across manufacturing equipment and process lines.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and control networks to diagnose and correct equipment and process control issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation and automation systems to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Configure and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related automation hardware (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, loop drawings, and schematics for instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Support integration of new equipment and upgrades by assisting with control wiring, programming, and commissioning.
- Monitor system performance and assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance product consistency and equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of calibration results, maintenance records, and system configurations.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, electricians, and production teams to resolve automation issues and maintain plant safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all plant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
