Location: This is an onsite position located at our Santa Ana, CA office. Candidates living within a 25-mile range .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and urgent repairs on our instruments (devices) and support our equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and computer-related faults to quickly restore system functionality
  • Use diagnostic software and system interfaces to assess instrument health, perform updates, and verify performance
  • Maintain accurate service logs and contribute to root cause analysis for recurring or critical issues
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to refine maintenance protocols and support reliability improvements
  • Monitor system health indicators and suggest improvements to preventive maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Manage on-hand inventory of critical parts and coordinate external repairs and calibration services when necessary
  • Assist with the setup, commissioning, and verification of new instruments
  • Provide training and support to internal users on equipment use and basic care
  • Support return processing and conduct trend analysis on the deployed fleet to identify failure patterns and drive improvements
  • Adhere to all safety and regulatory procedures in a quality-controlled environment


Qualifications Required for Position

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in maintenance of complex instruments, devices, or automation systems
  • Must be hands and enjoys assembling and disassembling mechanical and electrical components and parts
  • Must have previous experience with hand tools, meters, and diagnostic instruments
  • In depth mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Must have previous experience working with computers — including using control interfaces, installing updates, reviewing logs, and using diagnostic software
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
  • Ability to be organized, process-driven mindset with strong documentation and communication skills
  • Familiarity with control systems, sensors, actuators, and embedded software
  • Experience with basic scripting or command-line skills (e.g., Linux, PowerShell, or Python) are a plus
  • Prior experience supporting instruments in a regulated environment (e.g., medical device, clinical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing),



Work Environment
In-person position that requires working indoors at a computer station. May occasionally be exposed in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.
 

Salary Range 
The estimated base salary range for this position is $33 - $36 per hour. If the level of the role changes during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The actual base salary offered will be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, and level of education attained.
