Job Title: Installation Manager - $70,000 ‒ $120,000 Annually
General Purpose of Job: The Installation Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of assigned field installations, managing day-to-day installation operations, and ensuring that all work meets Techmenity’s standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction. This includes supervising and developing installation technicians, coordinating with project managers and engineering teams, and actively participating in complex installations. This is a field role and requires strong leadership, technical expertise in IT/AV/IoT systems, and an ability to manage multiple projects across residential and commercial job sites in the NYC area.
Essential Functions:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Oversee, coach, and mentor the installation team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work.
- Assign tasks based on skill level and project needs, ensuring appropriate resource allocation.
- Conduct regular check-ins with team members to monitor progress and provide support.
- Onboard, train, and evaluate new technicians and subcontractors.
Project & Workflow Oversight:
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to review project scope, site readiness, and equipment delivery timelines.
- Plan and schedule installation activities across multiple job sites, balancing priorities and deadlines.
- Ensure installations are completed on time, within scope, and to company standards.
- Conduct on-site quality assurance checks, verify testing results, and ensure thorough client tutorials are delivered.
Technical Oversight:
- Troubleshoot and support technical challenges in the field, particularly for escalated or high-priority issues.
- Ensure proper cabling practices, clean rack builds, and sound documentation are followed.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies and share knowledge with the team.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain clear documentation of daily progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Ensure all field documentation (e.g., cable schedules, termination records, punch lists) is updated and submitted accurately.
- Provide feedback to engineering and sales teams on design or scope gaps discovered in the field.
- Track and report installation milestones and manpower usage for each project.
Client Interaction:
- Represent Techmenity on job sites and in meetings as needed.
- Provide progress updates to clients, address concerns, and coordinate site access and walkthroughs.
- Ensure a white-glove experience in all client-facing activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in low-voltage installations, including AV, IT, IoT, lighting, and access control.
- 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Advanced knowledge of cabling, terminations, AV rack building, and IT system installation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hands-on familiarity with systems such as Savant, Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Ubiquiti, Cisco, etc.
Qualifications:
- Industry certifications (AVIXA CTS, OSHA-30, CompTIA Network+, etc.)
- Experience working in a PropTech or smart building integration firm.
- Familiarity with construction project timelines and subcontractor coordination.
